Segment boundary scale sensitivity, 4-track segmentation

To test the sensitivity of segmentation boundaries to wavelet scale, we use the notion that generally there are fewer, bigger segments as the wavelet scale increases. We therefore compared the published 64kb scale segmentation with a 128kb segmentation and a 32kb segmentation. In each case, we looked at the segment boundaries of the coarser segmentation and computed the distance to its nearest neighbor in the finer segmentation.

64kb vs. 32kb

There are 115 segment boundaries in the 64kb segmentation.

64kb vs. 128kb

There are 86 segment boundaries in the 128kb segmentation.
